we need new
I am in desperate need of a new web site. One that integrates Twitter and Flickr and all of the things that I tend to spend my time on rather than blogging. Well, not Flickr, yet, as I haven't replaced my camera yet. But Twitter. I find that it is all I do now.
The idea of designing a new website just makes me feel a little sick. I mean, who has time for that? Super blah. But this old blog is sad and needs a new face.
My brother and his wife went with me and the girls to the DCAC Wall Mountables yesterday and were super helpful on an insanely hot day. Mikey hung my work while I wrangled Anya and Sarah stayed with a sleeping Rachel in her stroller. It really is invaluable to have someone in your life who thinks like you and understands you. I sometimes forget about how much my brother knows me and just gets it. He makes me realize why some people have personal assistants. I am laughing as I write that sentence. But just having someone who is willing to help you with things when you are trying to do too much is really nice. Mikey knew exactly where and how to hang my pieces and it was a relief to not have to use a hammer while holding the hand of a three year old.
The DCAC Wall Mountables show runs from July 18 - August 31. Information is here.

Wish I could see the show, but DC is a bit far and our car has been languishing for months :(
Is this a wordpress blog? I'm pretty sure that wordpress's newest release would hav widgets that show twitter and flickr stuff. In fact, I know so.
There are some really cool new styles of templates, too. Google "wordpress magazine theme" and check out the wonderfulness. There are ones that are set up to highlight photos, which I bet you'd really like, short twitter style and longer posts.
My Clever Mom site is like that. The asides section at the bottom displays short twitter type posts, the featured story is for special stuff I want to highlight and each new story starts off in the premium position. Some people using this theme have it really tricked out with widgets to showcase their flickr photos, videos, comments, etc.

Redesigning is hard. I just spent days trying to make my site look right. Not even changing the look. And that was soooo hard.
But you could probably just add a twitter badge easily to your sidebar. That wouldn't really involve a whole redesign until you're ready to tackle that. And that way you'd get your tweets showing up here.
